In most agencies and design studios, drawers are filled with magnificent ideas that never found their momentum. We were fortunate enough to be able to bring to life a brilliant idea that emerged from our studio: the GPShoes, a pair of shoes that synced with a mobile phone app and, using a Bluetooth system and a vibration sensor embedded in the sole, provided route directions in the form of vibrations in the right or left shoe. We rethinked and redesigned the user experience of discovering new routes or finding the best way to reach a destination. We made GPS “walkable,” and, above all, we got rid of any visual interface (whether map or GPS) and its perks when asking for directions.
This is how Innovalley was created: a startup founded in San Francisco by Haiku Studio along with three other Barcelona companies (B Consulting, Cooked in Barcelona, and Cetemmsa), dedicated to innovation in smart clothing.
Haiku Studio designed and produced all of Innovalley’s products (interface design, clothing design, product design, etc.), the corporate image, the website, its e-commerce tools, presentations to investors and the general public, and more.
This project got many recognitions and innovation awards in both Spain and the United States.
